Vestibular Rehab & Dizziness Care in Montreal
Finding Your Balance Again
Dizziness, vertigo, and a loss of balance can make the world feel unpredictable and exhausting. At Confort Physio et Santé, we provide specialized Vestibular Rehabilitation in a low-stimulus, private environment. Our goal is to “re-train” your brain and inner ear to communicate correctly, so you can move with confidence again.
Why a Quiet Environment is Critical for Dizziness
When you are struggling with your balance, busy environments with loud noises and bright lights can actually worsen your symptoms. Our Montreal clinic is built to be a safe space for your recovery:
Dimmable Lighting: Many people with dizziness also suffer from light sensitivity or migraines. We can lower the lights in your treatment room to ensure your comfort during exercises.
Private Rooms: You won’t be performing balance exercises in a crowded gym. Having a private room allows you to focus entirely on your “re-training” without visual or auditory distractions.
One-on-One Attention: We monitor your symptoms closely to ensure we are challenging your system without triggering a significant flare-up.
What is Vestibular Rehabilitation?
Your vestibular system is responsible for sending signals to your brain about where your head is in space. If these signals are wrong, you feel dizzy or off-balance. We use a multidisciplinary approach to fix those signals:
Physiotherapy & Athletic Therapy: We use specific maneuvers (like the Epley maneuver for BPPV) and gaze-stability exercises to stop the “spinning” and improve your balance.
Osteopathy: Focusing on the alignment and tension in your neck and skull, which are often working overtime to try and stabilize your vision.
Occupational Therapy: Helping you manage the “energy drain” that comes with chronic dizziness and providing strategies for navigating your home or workplace safely.
Acupuncture: Used to calm the nervous system and manage the secondary tension or headaches that often accompany inner ear disorders.
Common Conditions We Treat
BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo): That sudden spinning sensation when you roll over in bed or look up.
Vestibular Neuritis or Labyrinthitis: Lingering dizziness or imbalance following a viral infection.
Cervicogenic Dizziness: Dizziness that stems from tension or injury in the neck.
General Imbalance: Feeling “unsteady,” “floaty,” or “off” without a clear cause.
