About Hypermobility
Hypermobility means that your joints move beyond the typical range. While some people have no symptoms, others experience joint pain, instability, frequent subluxations or dislocations, fatigue, dizziness, or pelvic floor dysfunction.

💬 Additional Questions About Hypermobility Care
I’ve been dismissed by other providers — will I be taken seriously?
Yes. We understand that many people with hypermobility have had difficult or invalidating medical experiences. At Confort Physio et Santé, we listen first. Your story, symptoms, and comfort guide everything we do.
Can physiotherapy help if I haven’t been officially diagnosed?
Yes. We treat based on your functional concerns, not just a medical label. You don’t need a diagnosis or referral to begin — if your joints feel unstable, painful, or difficult to control, we can help.
Is physiotherapy painful if I’m very sensitive?
Not with us. We use gentle techniques and always adapt to your sensory and physical comfort levels. If something feels too intense, we stop or modify it — no pushing through pain.
What if I have POTS, dizziness, or fatigue?
These symptoms are common in the hypermobility and EDS population. We adapt each session to your current energy levels and incorporate nervous system regulation strategies to support you without overwhelming your system.
Will you stretch me if I’m already too flexible?
Usually not. Most people with hypermobility don’t need more flexibility — they need stability, proprioception, and strategies to calm the nervous system. We avoid unnecessary stretching unless it serves a clear purpose.
Can I still exercise safely if I’m hypermobile?
Yes, absolutely. Exercise can be helpful, but it needs to be approached with care. We’ll guide you through movements that promote control and stability without overloading your joints or pushing you beyond your capacity.
Will treatment help with multiple symptoms (e.g., joint pain, fatigue, pelvic issues)?
Yes — we take a holistic approach. Many clients experience overlapping symptoms, and we create a care plan that addresses your needs across different body systems, not just one joint at a time.
Do you work with people who have other conditions, like fibromyalgia or MCAS?
Yes. We often work with clients who have complex conditions, including fibromyalgia, suspected mast cell activation (MCAS), POTS, and more. We adapt treatment accordingly and can coordinate with other care providers when needed.
What if I’ve already tried physio elsewhere and it didn’t help?
That’s very common. Many of our clients come to us after unsuccessful past experiences. Our approach is different — we focus on nervous system regulation, individualized pacing, and the unique needs of hypermobile bodies.
How often will I need to come in?
It depends on your goals, needs, and how you respond to treatment. Some clients start with weekly sessions, while others prefer biweekly or monthly visits. We’ll find a rhythm that works for you.
Can I stop treatment at any time if it feels like too much?
Of course. You’re always in control of your care. We’ll work at your pace, and you’re welcome to pause, reschedule, or adjust your treatment plan whenever needed.
Is hypermobility the same as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)?
No — not everyone with hypermobility has EDS. Many people are hypermobile without meeting the criteria for hEDS or another connective tissue disorder. We work with clients who are diagnosed, undiagnosed, or in the middle of seeking answers.
